the differences between an Airbus and Boeing

Finding the differences between an Airbus and a Boeing and recognising which one is which can be tricky if you don’t know what you are looking for, so here I have created a list of examples and images of some differences to spot between the 2. Some airbus and Boeings are a little different than their usual so if one of the tips doesn't work, just look at the next one

  1. The nose/tip

       The Nose’s of most Boeing and Airbus’ are completely different to each other.

       Boeings have sharper and more pointy noses compared to an Airbus. Therefore when you see that the nose/tip of the aircraft is pointy, you are         most likely looking at a Boeing.

       Check to see if the nose of the aircraft is round. When the nose/tip of the aircraft is more rounded, it is probably an Airbus that you see.

2. The cockpit windows

       The cockpit windows on most Airbus and Boeings are different too.

 

       If the back 2 windows of a cockpit on either side of the aircraft are pointing downwards, it is a Boeing.  

   

       But If The back window of the cockpit on either side of the aircraft has a sharp 90º angle in the bottom backside of the window, it means that             you are looking at an Airbus.

3. The Engines

       There is also a major difference between the engines of Airbus and Boeings.

 

       Boeings always have more of a flatter bottom of the engine, and a round top and side of the engine.

 

       Airbus’ engines however are fully round.

4. The tail

The tail might be one of the most noticeable differences between an Airbus and a Boeing if you are looking at them from a little distance.

 

The Boeings tail usually has another extended slope running into the aircraft at the front side, it means it's a Boeing.

 

 If the tail however runs into the aircraft more straight and direct its an Airbus.

5. The gear when its retracted in (only for Boeing 737)

This is a difficult one to spot since you can only really notice this when the plane is taking off and flying almost straight over you.

 

When the wheels of a Boeing 737 have been retracted in, the wheels are still visible with not really a wheel cap covering them

 

But an Airbus and most other Boeing's the wheels are fully covered by the wheel caps.
